About
MyBuildRecords is a startup building a single-purpose tool for residential builders. No enterprise software. No VC ambition. Just a real problem, solved well, at a price that makes sense.
Positioning
“Enterprise tools are too expensive. MyBuildRecords is for every other builder — the 70% who use a shoebox and a Dropbox folder — who need to solve one specific problem: the handover pack. One job, done well, for one-tenth the price.”
At the end of every residential build, the builder owes the client a package of documentation: appliance manuals, product warranties, installer certifications, compliance certificates, subcontractor sign-offs. This obligation is universal. The time cost — typically two or more days of a site manager’s labour — is invisible. It gets absorbed into the project management line item and nobody tracks it.
MyBuildRecords makes the handover pack a zero-labour byproduct of the build itself. Builders collect docs progressively. Subcontractors contribute via magic link. At handover, one button generates a branded PDF and a per-property homeowner portal. The whole thing costs $300 per project.
We’re not building for the enterprise. We’re not chasing a consumer subscription. We’re not taking VC money. We’re building a profitable, focused product for the 70% of builders that existing construction SaaS ignores.
The Team
A working builder with genuine credibility in the industry. Hamish has already built four handover reference sites for real clients — the manual way, before MyBuildRecords existed. He knows the pain from the inside. He’s using the product on his own live builds, and he’s the one selling it to his peers.
